CCApp is short for ‘common client application’. It is used with many Symantec Norton programs like Norton Antivirus or AntiSpam. Running in the background, its responsibility is to constantly check the system and incoming mail for malicious threats like Trojans. At startup, the computer operator must not disable the process. Nevertheless, it is harmless to terminate the process at shutdown. Deleting it disables Norton programs. The problem it poses, with its termination is that it prevents the antivirus from protecting the computer.
